Dr. Fran Levin Bowman (1952 - 2021) was Director of bowman educational services, inc.

and MultiFlex Educational Services, LLC with offices in New York, Connecticut, Maryland, and California, where she worked primarily as an Educational Diagnostician and Teacher Trainer.  She was the author of Bowman’s Orton-Gillingham “Plus” Guidebook and co-author of the MODELosophy Writing Program.  She was a co-founder of OgStar Reading®, a reading game app for students in grades K-8.  Dr. Bowman was a former President of the International Dyslexia Association, MD, and a former Vice-President of the Learning Disabilities Association, PA. She recently trained 600 Baltimore County Public Schools teachers in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. She was a Fellow in the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. Her deep knowledge of research, practice, and her compassion for all students with learning differences continue to inform OgStar's mission.

Stephanie Nislow, M.Ed. is currently a multisensory, structured language tutor working with students in grades K-12. She was a classroom teacher for the Baltimore County Public Schools and was nominated for “Teacher of the Year”. She has extensive experience tutoring students and adults in a wide variety of subjects, including Reading, Written Language, Executive Functioning, Math, and Spanish. She has worked over the last 15 years with students with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. She has worked with English Language Learners in home and school settings. She has taken an approved Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators’ course in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. She has also had training in Visualization Strategies for Reading Comprehension and Written Language Approaches for Students Who Learn Differently. She is a co-founder of OgStar Reading®, a reading game app for students in grades K-8. Ms. Nislow was a Creative Project Director for Reach Out and Read, a non-profit organization, which promotes literacy for young children.
