​OgStar Reading® is dedicated to maintaining the privacy of our app users, including students, parents, teachers, administrators, and/or legal guardians. OgStar Reading does not allow third-party companies to advertise through any of our OgStar Reading apps, and we are fully committed to keeping our apps free from advertising. We have created this privacy policy in regard to the collection and use of any data or information gathered by our company. We do not reveal student, family, or professional details for advertising, sales, or distribution purposes. Any information obtained from app users will exclusively be utilized in relation to the use of the OgStar Reading® applications. Use of our app is considered to be consent for OgStar Reading® to process user data according to the specific guidelines that are set forth in this protocol.
Collection of Data:

iPad Apps: When personal accounts are set up through the iPad App Store, OgStar Reading® will not have access to any personal information. When schools set up group accounts, through Apple, OgStar Reading® will only have access to anonymized data. Names of students, ages of students, school names, classroom assignments, and progress data will only be on the actual device. As students move through the lessons, performance data will be gathered; this information will remain on the device that is being used for the app (e.g., iPad) and will not be shared online through any internet or cloud services. Any speech recognition activities completed by students while using the app will not be stored in any way. Any touch recognition activities completed by students while using the app will not be stored in any way. Any camera images of students projected during the use of the app are not saved or stored in any way. Any photographs or videos of individuals using the app will not be shared without written consent by parents and/or schools.

Web-based App for Chrome OS: When personal and school accounts are set up through our website, ogstarreading.com, OgStar Reading® will have access to the names and email addresses of the app administrator(s) for each account. Once set up, student usernames will also be available to OgStar Reading. When schools set up group accounts, OgStar Reading® will only have access to anonymized data. Student usernames, ages of students, assigned teacher names, and usage data will be available to school district and OgStar Reading administrators through its administrative portal. As students move through the lessons, performance data will be gathered; this information will remain on the administrative portal for assigned administrators to monitor. Any speech recognition activities completed by students while using the app will not be stored in any way. Any touch recognition activities completed by students while using the app will not be stored in any way. Any camera images of students projected during the use of the app are not saved or stored in any way. Any photographs or videos of individuals using the app will not be shared without written consent by parents and/or schools.

Use of Information:

OgStar Reading® Apps only collect user data for educational purposes. Each individual customer has an individualized profile based on individual performance on each of the steps. This creates a personalized learning path for teachers, parents, and administrators to monitor in order to create a meaningful learning profile. This also provides information for us to update the apps and provide an optimal user experience.

On our OgStar Reading website, we receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the email, name, and purchase history through Quickbooks. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment history, comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile when provided.

Storage and Disclosure of Personal Information:
Our iPad apps are hosted on the Apple Store (App Store) and our web-based app is hosted on Amazon Web Server (AWS) and Heroku. Heroku regularly performs audits and maintains PCI, HIPAA, ISO, and SOC compliance. Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
All direct payments that go through Quickbooks.Intuit.com and are used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our service providers. No credit card information is stored by OgStar Reading.

Protection and Compliance:
We regularly review and revise our security policies to be sure that they are up-to-date and include any new official regulations. If there is a security or privacy issue, OgStar Reading® will contact any and all affected parties within 72 hours.

Use of Cookies:
We do not use cookies in our educational apps. We do use cookies and similar technologies to enable services and functionality on our website and to understand your interaction with our service.
Disclosure of Information to Third Parties:
We do not disclose information to Third Parties without the express written consent of all parties involved.

Analytics:
We will use analytics to understand and analyze User Experience patterns in order to provide an optimal program. This will not contain any Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
COPPA: We are required by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act to obtain parental permission for usage and or collection of any personal data related to children (under 13 years of age). If a parent would like to prohibit their child from using the app, they may request account deletion through their school. Schools will be able to delete students from our system. School districts will also be able to request data deletion for schools in our system.

Communication:
We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.
